Our physios doing the assault course challenge

Having completed the 1km Military Assault Course Challenge last year, it was time to ramp up the pressure for the 2016 Challenge. As we know four of our very own Physios (including Linda who has recently left) stormed their way across not a 1km but a 3km Challenge this year. Before the girls arrived, little did they know that Denice assisted in her mission by the ex-Military course leaders had plans afoot to extend the course, push them harder and make their journey through the course not only three times longer than the previous one but both tougher, meaner and scarier than they knew possible.

But that said, Caroline, Linda, Claire and Jude showed true girl power and resilience as they jumped into murky ditches that completely swamped them, crawled through long, low, blacked out water filled tunnels, climbed trucks, high fence walls and tyre towers, navigated through barbed wire obstacles, swung down ropes, climbed cargo nets and steep slippery banks and swum through what can only be described as mud baths. They concentrated, chanted and sung their way round to help ‘Make Samson Stronger’, all for the people that they treat, day in, day out all of the people who they have become attached to, who they have come to know and admire and who are themselves facing the daily challenges of living with multiple sclerosis.

Before they started the course Denice knew that the girls were well on their way to raising £2,000 and what an amazing thing to be able to spur them on. And spur them on it did as they worked their way round the toughest course yet as a team, constantly helping each other, constantly looking after and out for each other just as they do at the Centre. Incredible women, incredible team, incredible result as they confronted personal fears, met new challenges head on and all for the very people who need them most.

A big thank you to all members and supporters who have already contributed but remember there is still time to visit Jackie’s just giving page by clicking the picture above to make a donation and to help our physios to do what they do best – helping people with multiple sclerosis and who themselves are unable to do all the things that these four wonderful girls, wonderful women did today in the name of the ‘Samson Centre for MS’.
