Fundraising Update

Paul Dimmock – Fundraiser

The fundraising over the past few months has delivered some tangible benefits with the two MotoMed Bikes in use. There was a delay in delivery but both bikes are now in action and are delivering benefits to users at the Samson Centre. The two MotoMed bikes have been purchased with a grant from Sport England £9,900 award.

The National Lottery have also awarded the Physio Team with a £10,000 grant towards delivering services face to face at the Centre and also providing the physio service remotely.

The great work which Chris Boys has been doing to ensure the gym is one of the best in the country has moved a step closer, a request for detailed information of how we operate and what the benefits are, is a good sign. Two grants have been applied for and as soon as we hear the news, we’ll pass on immediately.

The latest application is to purchase two Gripable Pro devises which cost £1,900. The physio team will be able to make great use of these two devises, a decision on whether we have been successful or not should be fairly soon.

Work to engage more commercial companies to work alongside the Samson Centre are well underway, we have been working with a director of a company, Putt in the Park. He has used his influence to highlight to the company the need for the services we offer at the Samson Centre, and the company seem highly receptive to working with us over the summer months. A Godalming company are also considering how they may be able to assist in the Samson Centre operation. Working with two commercial partners is an exciting time for the Samson Centre, I hope to be able to report more on these in the next edition.
