The Samson Centre- A place for everyone

Written by Abi F Jones – Carer
I have been taking my client, Richard to the Samson Centre on a Monday morning for around a year now. He has a therapy session with Sara, lasting around 45 minutes, and then goes on to use the oxygen chamber for around an hour. Since coming to the Samson centre with Richard, I have personally forged some wonderful relationships with the amazing staff that work and volunteer there. They are always supportive and often share ideas with me that may help Richard to achieve a better standard of living, whether that be physically, emotionally or psychologically.
Coffee, tea and biscuits are provided for the service users which is served with a smile from the lovely Carol. There is a fully equipped gym for people to use independently, with Mike the PT, or with one of the physios. The gym is also available for carers to use whilst their clients are having treatments elsewhere in the centre. I have been enjoying using its facilities for the last few weeks which is helping in my preparation for the Samson 10K charity run in July!
I feel that Richard always leaves the Samson Centre with a renewed feeling of energy and spark about him. He seems to enjoy the interactions with other people and chatting to the regulars, as well as receiving his physio and oxygen sessions.
Monday mornings at Samson is a great way for Richard and myself to kick off the week with a positive spin.
Thank you to everyone who puts in so much love and hard work into making The Samson Centre a home from home for us all.
