Centre Update

Jackie Payne Centre Manager
I have no idea where 2022 has gone! There have been some lovely fundraising events during 2022 and these are so important in contributing towards our ongoing physio costs. Some great examples include:
£850 from cake sales at the Centre
£3700 from 8 street collections in local towns
£300 from Milford Fete in June
Over £10,000 from London 10k runners with 30 runners in July
£4000 from a great fundraising event hosted by Surrey Law Society at the Mandolay hotel in Guildford
£1000 from a barbeque organised by Camberley Masonic Lodge
£700 from Hilary Birkinshaw’s rowing challenge
£270 from Maria (physio) and children taking part in the Blackbushe Airport 5k run in Sept
£950 from Rachel Chamber’s ascent up the 02 dome in London in Sept
£200 from Sara’s pilates online class fundraiser in Oct
£4400 from Linda Kitching and Kevin Drury running the London Marathon for us in Oct
£x from Camberley Lodge soft rock concert
In 2023 we already have a few events lined up including:
- A Ladies fundraising evening hosted by Camberley Lodge in March
- Megan Hambly running the Surrey half marathon
- A charity ball at Denbies in Dorking organised by Natalie Roberts
- The possibility of a staff sponsored walk some time in the spring in the Surrey Hills
- Vanessa Drury running in the London Marathon for us in April
- Eric Jamieson cycling in the London 100 mile bike ride
- London 10k in July – again, 30 places to fill
Please do let us know if you know anyone who can do a sponsored event for the Samson Centre and also if you have any ideas regarding fundraising.
Thank you so much to those of you who have helped in any way at all with the above fundraising. Here’s to a successful 2023!
