Rehabilitation Assistant

Part time – to include Thursday and Friday 12- 14 hours per week

Pay scale- Equivalent to NHS pay scale Band 3 (pro rata)

The Samson Centre for MS is a charity providing physiotherapy, exercise classes and gym instruction for its members, all of whom have Multiple Sclerosis.

We are looking for a new staff member to work with our friendly team. If you have experience of working with people in a health and social care setting or alternatively have experience of working in a gym and have an interest of working with people with disability, then this could be the job for you.

The role will involve helping the physiotherapists and gym instructors during therapy sessions and exercise classes. If you have appropriate gym experience, there will be an opportunity to develop your skills in running small groups and classes. The role also involves setting up equipment, helping our members getting to and from their cars, assisting with hoisting members during therapy sessions and helping members with toileting. You will also be responsible for keeping the therapy areas clean and tidy.

You will be given training for this role. The job demands a level of fitness. It would ideally suit someone with an interest in working with people with disabilities, preferably with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care. Other qualifications will be considered such as Register of Exercise Professionals Qualifications (REPs), levels 2,3 and 4.

Please send your C.V.  and covering email expressing interest FAO Vicky Bassett (Lead Physiotherapist) vicky.bassett@samsoncentre.org.uk
