Martin worked in IT and computing at various grades from Programmer to Manager from 1979 until 2007 when he was forced to retire from Dairy Crest due to ill-health.
He is re-married with two grown-up children. He was diagnosed with relapsing/remitting MS in November 1995 and secondary progressive MS in 2001.
Martin joined the MSTG(G) as a member and then a committee member in 2007. He took over from John Hambly as Chairman in October 2009, and then also became the first Chairman of the Samson Centre for MS when it was formed to take over from the MSTG(G) in September 2014.
Martin is also a Trustee at Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for Disabled People.
