Water Beyond the Waterside Centre

Guy Williams, Pro-active user of the Centre
Sports, exercise and fitness is definitely my happy place, I first encountered this when I was in my teens , I found reading and writing very, very difficult but fortunately I also found that sports and sports day was my time to shine .
Sports again came to the rescue when I was diagnosed in 2007 with MS.
I wasn’t really interested in doing the sports I used to do , as I knew that I’d be comparing my new self with my old self, so I looked for new sports and found a disabled water ski club near Staines, so on a cold wet November day, I had my first taste of water skiing, even to this day I remember being on my ski, nearly falling off a million times think, Yes, we were back in business!
As the years have progressed, I found the club to a very positive, happy place, where you have the chance to mix with other disabled people, who’s life experiences are very similar to mine dealing with their disabilities.
It’s a great place to just chill out watching others having fun, fully disabled facilities, easy parking, you don’t have to water ski, you could go swimming, kayaking , paddle boarding or just chill out and socialise
